QUEENS OF THE NIGHT

Juno @juno_likethesynth
Camila @milath0t
To me queen of the night means encompassing all the aspects of going to a party from the glam, to being on the dance-floor, and the in between moments where you’re socializing. Having all those aspects together is the perfect combination to enjoying the night and how you feel being in it!

Xander Aviance
My Queen of the Night is Xander Aviance.
To me ‘Queen of the Night’ means both royalty and leadership. A Queen of the Night is a legend in the room and also a teacher, provider and leader. They’re someone with legacy that checks the children and teaches the etiquette, the history, the culture. The Queen turns it. Always fab and always fierce. She’s unafraid to read a bitch down but she also nurtures and cares, passing wisdom and lived experience forward to raise and uplift the community. The Queen teaches the children. Ancestry, legacy, fierce rule and protection of the community, always with care and compassion; nurturing through the divine feminine. That’s what Queen of the Night means to me.

Shia @shiaho.nyc
Shia Ho is the queen of the night. When I walk into the club in my crossdresser wig and heels, ain’t nobody stopping this queer, HIV-positive, Asian-American beauty.
But drag aside, being the queen of the night means supporting my community and being confident in the skin I’m in no what people may think or say. It’s about being kind to those that share your space, tipping your bartenders and staff, and uplifting your community. Being a cunt doesn’t make you cunt, care and kindness does.
Emmanuela Gore @emmanuela_gore
I’m my own queen of the night, as we should all be to ourselves. Movement, intention, love, beauty, and commitment to each other… the desire to celebrate collectively, or intimately, but to celebrate nonetheless is essential. Grief is inevitable, celebration is a choice.

there's so many queens of my nights, but my queen of the night is Juliana Huxtable. i've never had a bad time with Juliana somewhere in the mix.
a queen of the night is someone who owns the entire room by radiating the best vibes and infecting everyone with that same good energy. nightlife is full of energy vampires. the queens of the night are who keep this beautiful, chaotic wonderland alive.

The Queen of the Night:
Luna 🌙 ( she/ they). Luna came into my life rather suddenly and I’m grateful for this every day. She encompasses what it means to be not only a Queen but a DIVA. She lights up every room and has a polarizing energy where you want to exist in her atmosphere. She moves with a lot of grace and understanding that I have rarely seen in my over a decade long journey in nightlife.
Her willingness to interrogate spaces, others and even themself with the greater goal of communal undersanding clarity and compassion always puts me at awe.
She has shifted my lens in what truly trusting people looks like.
Praise the Diva™️

Mal Tatum @mal.tatum
Eric - queen of the night to me means someone who consistently extends kindness and fosters community. I feel like there’s a discrepancy of these qualities in nightlife at times, but thanks to people like Eric who truly just want to have a good time and want people in his vicinity to experience that same opportunity, the scene feels brighter. His amazing gift of making a stranger or friend feel seen is an admirable one. Mind you he’s also giving you face, body, and a fierce fit at the same time. He flawlessly serves cunt with kindness!

Who is your queen of the night? Lysis.
What does being a queen of the night mean to you?
I think being a queen of the night is a title earned by those who live and breathe what we do. People who have experience in every pocket of it and can turn it no matter where they are. Whether it’s the dance floor, behind the bar, at the door, outside smoking a cigarette, sitting on a bench turning a look, there’s a certain holistic understanding of the flow of the function, and an ability to exert a command on any aspect of that flow at a moments notice in a graceful and noninvasive way that designates a true queen of the night.

Feonix @feoniixx
my queen of the night is my girl Vera Lee Westwood. honestly one of the greatest & most genuine women i’ve met in the scene, and it’s kinda hard to say that about a lot of people you meet in the scene i NYC . i met her at Paul’s Dolls a few years ago and we recently have gotten closer and it feels like I always have a safe place when i am around her. a queen of the night to me is someone that knows how to have fun but also knows how to keep it cute and respectful when it comes to the other girls in the scene.

Angel @angelbby4evr
my queen of the night is my best friend Mikaela!
Being a queen of the night to me, means that you’re the girl who’s first and only goal is have a good time. You are ready to storm any and every venue ( most times it’s several in one night). You’re either always listed, skipping the line, or pumping it at the door without questions asked. The queen of the night spreads so much love and joy that she is constantly rewarded with good friends everywhere. She takes care of her community and in turn they take care of her!

who is your queen of the night?
Mi madre Santa Cecilia Gentilli Para La eternidad 💗
what does being a queen of the night mean to you?

Eric Chung
queen of the night to me means someone who elevates their community, someone who is unbothered with pretentious sceney bullshit while still acknowledging their high self worth. a confident diva!
two people immediately come to mind: kyruh and kourtney (rose kourts). that is nyc nightlife royalty!

Luna @nothatluna
my queens of the night are my fellow divas.
the girls, gays, and theys who know that nightlife is both a space for expression, art, music and dance; but also a space for community, care, reflection, and accountability.
the divas who honor their inherit multiplicity and challenge each other to do the same all while serving severe levels of cunt.

Avvi @avviplz
You, bitch. My $5 Gucci knockoffs are so tinted they double as spiritual armor - but even behind them, the girls know who I'm clocking.
Being a queen of the night means becoming a living altar, cloaked in glamour and pulsing with intention. She drapes the darkness in velvet and fills it with light.
Her aura hums like a bass speaker under your body, shaking you until you remember you're not just spirit - you're flesh.
Those who step into her field are either burned clean or held with psychic
tenderness. She kisses you on the lips. Time slows. You remember who you are. It's not performance; it's communion.

Camila Bueno @milath0t
who is your queen of the night?
the music. she’s the reason we’re all here. without her, there would be no club, no rave, no passion nor intensity. she guides us through while she wraps around us like a soft, warm blanket freshly taken out the dryer.
what does being a queen of the night mean to you?
a queen of the night commands the room with her gaze. she demands respect and leads with it too. she teaches with her actions.
to be a queen of the night means to be love. to personify love. to spread the love you feel and to share your joy and happiness with the girls, gays, and theys. to care for all in the community with whom we share space with. a queen of the night reflects on her experiences and pushes herself and her loved ones to better versions of themselves. she uplifts. she shines. and she’s a vibe.
